UiPath Robotic Process Automation for Major Healthcare Provider
Vergence assisted a major healthcare provider incorporate UiPath robotic process automation (RPA) and complete insurance eligibility checks more efficiently.
Healthcare Provider’s Need for RPA
The healthcare provider’s manual daily process for checking insurance eligibility required significant personnel hours. Processing a single eligibility check required multiple team members verifying and uploading different sections of patient information. The organization’s Vice President of Ambulatory Services wanted to generate cost savings in this back-office task.
Vergence’s Approach
Working closely with the healthcare provider’s subject matter experts, the Vergence team quickly implemented a solution that provided instant results and return on investment. The overall implementation required approximately four weeks and one highly-skilled engineer deploying UiPath Automation Cloud to complete.
Vergence utilized an agile design approach for this project, completing multiple process and requirements gathering sessions. The project team identified process improvements including the removal of redundant actions, reduction of keystrokes, and use of application programming interfaces where possible. Through each process iteration, key stakeholders adopted and implemented these improvements to increase the performance of the RPA setup.
Results
The healthcare provider’s back-office personnel no longer spent hours each morning validating insurance which resulted in improved customer satisfaction and more personnel hours allocated to true value-added work.
